Glide Waxing
Glide waxing encompasses a broad area of wax application to the glide zones of a ski in order to improve speed, reduce dirt accumulation and maintain the ski base. Glide Waxing is further broken down into sections:
- Paraffin-type waxes - base and race waxes that are absorbed into the ski base after melting and ironing.
- Pure Fluorocarbon Powders - race waxes that provide water resistance and additional speed
- Top Coats - waxes applied as the final layer of a race wax job designed to optimize the wax and provide the last bit of speed.
- Fluorocarbon Blocks - Solid fluoros crayoned on and corked in, usually by hand.
- Liquid Fluorocarbon Waxes - Fluoros in fluid suspension that are painted on the ski and then corked.
